iFarm has recently opened its showroom in Espoo, Finland. It can boast of leafy greens and spices that are so popular with North Europeans.
"By opening a showroom in Espoo we're bringing iFarm closer to our potential customers from Europe, - comments Kirill Zelenski, VP of iFarm Europe, - as Espoo is conveniently located just a few stops away from the center of Helsinki. You can easily reach it either from the airport or the railway station. Normally we do tours for visitors but with the danger of COVID-19 around and border shutdowns we have moved them online".
Our vertical farm with a growing area of 57m² is found at Karamalmintie 2, Espoo - in a former logistic center of S Group (one of the biggest retailers in Finland).

The showroom can boast of 14 types of leafy greens: a few types of lettuce - Iceberg, Salanova, Aficion, Romaine, Oak Leaf, Lollo Rosso - spinach, wasabi, carrots, reddish and other plants. Kirill Zelenski says that growing wasabi is a task which only few international producers are capable of. The spice from the showroom will soon hit store shelves in Finland, but the root part takes longer - up to 18 months - to mature.
"Because of border shutdowns import of some goods has become problematic, and food security has never been more critical. We started to see more potential customers from Switzerland, the UK, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries turn to us. The showroom enables to demonstrate all the features of a vertical farm (climate control, LED-lighting, "smart" energy management, and fertigation systems), how crops grow, and also iFarm GrowTune SaaS-platform - our own software solution that allows you to manage your farm remotely", - told Zelenski.
