Swiss company YASAI AG with help of iFarm and Dutch company Logiqs, is launching a vertical salad farm in Zurich (Switzerland). The farm with a total cultivation area of 585 m² and a design capacity of 20 tons of fresh herbs per year was put into operation in January 2022.

As partners in the project, iFarm is responsible for installing a range of hardware, including equipment to prepare bespoke nutrient solutions and equipment to control the indoor microclimate. Additionally, the iFarm Growtune IT platform is up and running and enable YASAI to manage the farm remotely and use ‘plant growth recipes’ to harvest great-tasting, top-quality herbs. Logiqs acted as a supplier of automated shelving and phyto-lighting equipment, which streamline production and maximise efficiency.

Building on the success of this venture, iFarm, YASAI and Logiqs plan to launch and scale similar automated, compact and productive vertical farms in Switzerland and throughout the world.
